While Summerfield Baptist church could supply money and materials, they could not supply a piano player. It was at that time that the music director had the  idea to record several hymns on piano and put them on tapes for this church to use. 

It was discovered that enough supplies could be purchased to make up 12 sets of tapes for a reasonable amount of money, so it was done. The initial set contained 25 hymns which are now on the Joyful Hymns Vol. 1 CD. 

Dale Dutridge (founder and director of JNM) the music director got Joy Hardin to play the songs and then made up 12 sets and sent one to the Utica church and one set to a missionary in Germany. Before long the word began to spread and more sets were needed. 

Though small and run by one person the ministry began to grow. It was named Joyful Noise Music and The Lord began to use it. 

Since the beginning JNM has added CD's, 3 more volumes of Joyful Hymns, one volume of piano instrumentals, recorded a handful of local church musicians, produced a musical tract and more. 

As of the writing of this piece, JNM has sent out more than 2300 recordings to small churches and missionaries in 51 countries and 47 states. This does not even count the many who have been using the MIDI file versions in electronic keyboards and pianos. 

Since the day that the ministry started it has been dedicated to offering traditional, conservative music to those who use it in ministry. Everything JNM does is supported on a donation basis. While there are a few services JNM performs at reasonable prices, ALL music recordings have been offered on a free will donation basis. No one has ever been required to pay up front for anything that we offer. 

There are future plans to add 4 additional volumes of Joyful Hymns. 

All this has been made possible by the generosity of God's people. As long as the Lord continues to provide, we will work to help spread the Gospel through music.
